Golden Sardine - A Gem in North Beach with Great Wine and Atmosphere

Solid wine bar for a good time and delicious cheese oh man. I will say the ordering process and the chairs being rickety and the fact that I could barely hear the people at my table knocked off a star but I still had a ton of fun! The staff are so amazing - that was a highlight they’re all people persons who love wine and cheese, perfect combo. Hope to one day try some of the tinned fish but the environment is kinda intense on a Saturday.

This spot was such a vibe. It's a tiny spot owned by a poet that has an open mic at all times on the second floor. On the bottom floor the wine bar is intimate and cozy. The wine I got was sub par but that's due to me being cheap. The cheese board was tasty but a bit small. Pro tip: I recommend the Wisconsin cheese, it was salty and creamy. Twas a very good cheese. I feel like I went up an intellectual IQ point by eating it.

The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable! Cheese and charcuterie is top tier, ambience is great especially on the second floor on a nice day. Long list of wines, especially Riesling which I believe is their specialty.

Cute little wine bar: tiny but charming. We sat upstairs with views of the street, which was really fun for people-watching. The charcuterie boards are fantastic, and the wine selection is great. Conveniently located near several other great restaurants, this is a lovely spot to relax and enjoy a drink!

This one bar is a wonderful contradiction! How can a cute little wine bar in the middle of a tourist area be a local hotspot? This wine bar has quickly become a favorite of mine. Wine and service has character! Nice selection of red and wines. With a snack menu to match it! Not for big groups. A great place to gather, calm down, connect and enjoy.

5 ⭐ A really cute and cozy wine bar with a charming Spanish flair - sardines, tinned fish, cheese, and a great selection of Rieslings (my fav!). This bar is small so it feels intimate but is appropriate for first dates. The first floor is quite tight so it might be costly to your neighbors to canoodle but perhaps if you snag a wall corner seat? Apparently there's also second floor but I didn't go up so will have to revisit. I really liked the 2023 Feinherb Mosel Riesling - it was dry but full body and very balanced. Highly recommend. Tatomer was also good but slightly less full bodied. Overall a great date spot with dim lighting and European flair so def try to snag a seat.

First off: Best potato salad in the world. They’ve perfected p salad. Second: The best bar in SF for small bites and trendy wines. Third: Best staff you can ask for in a bar. Cool folk who will tell you NOT to order something on the menu if they think it’s sub par and will recommend an alternative

This is a small wine bar, but they take advantage of the space by using the upstairs for seating and having the outside seating open when the weather is nice. It’s such a welcoming space that feels like you’re sitting in a friend’s living room. My sister and I each got a glass of wine and split a cheese platter (3 cheeses for $20!) and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. Really good wine selection and the bartenders are very knowledge about the wine and the cheeses!
